People don’t understand why this is a big deal.
Disney has a stranglehold on animation. Ya’ll remember when Frozen came out? Well when it won the Oscar for best-animated film, it was revealed that the people voting didn’t watch any of the other films. Frozen only won because of it’s brand name. For Spiderverse to defeat two Disney films is big because not only does it prove that animated movies feature people of color can be successful but it’s also showing that other animation companies have a chance.
Idk if you’ve heard of Night in the Woods, but it is seriously one of my favorite games visually and story-wise. I love their aesthetic and soundtrack, and I’m especially in love with Mae <3

I’m re-reblogging this because I’m seething about how many ppl are denying this or straight up telling op, my friend, that Peter cant be Jewish because of bs stuff like “his characters based around guilt which is a catholic thing (huh?) Or “that’s not really Peter it’s an AU Peter” and “well… non-jewish ppl might smash glasses at their wedding too??” (Wtf??) None of you said “that’s not really Peter” when we were excited he was finally out of his origin story?
You need to sit the fuck down and think about why youre so adamant on discouraging the idea of Jewish Peter Parker
(PS: Stan Lee and Jack Kirby are Jewish, so no, I dont think either are “rolling in their graves”, they’d probably approve actually, since Stan based Peter partly on himself)
